Announcing the First Three Open Boat Trip

Updated: Oct 14, 2021

So, what is an “Open Boat” trip?

It’s simple. We are available on select dates on a “First Come, First Serve” basis. It’s for those who want to go fishing during the prime time for Black Seabass, Tog/Blackfish and Striped Bass but can’t put together a private charter. You’ll fish with other regular Mighty Heron clients. We limit the number of passengers to five so there is plenty of elbow room. The fee is $175 per person. A $50 per a person deposit is required. Deposits are refunded if the trip is cancelled or postponed. All bait and tackle provided. These are full-day 8 hour + trips. Each trip will leave one hour before sunrise or at first light.

Reserve your spot directly with me on my personal phone. 609-519-1708.

Friday October 22nd “Deep Sea” Black Seabass, Tog, Porgy and Triggerfish. We go deep (out as far as 30 miles) over wrecks and reefs on the hunt for these tasty fighters. Bag limit for Black Seabass beginning October 8th is 10 fish at 12.5 inches. Porgy bag limit is 50 fish at 9 inches. Triggerfish bag limit is 20. Departure is 6:00 a.m. A minimum of 3 anglers is required to sail.

Friday November 19th “Deep Sea” Hunt for Tog. Tog/Blackfish are one of the most delicious fish in the sea. The bag limit increases to 5 fish at 15 inches on November 16th. These guys hit lightning-quick and are a blast to catch. We will go deep to 100 feet + looking for the big bulldogs over ten pounds. Departure time is 6:00 a.m. A minimum of 4 anglers is required to sail.

Friday December 3rd Stripers. The end of November and beginning of December has been the heart of the trophy Striped Bass season for several years. We will run as far as Barnegat Light or Cape May to troll for the big girls. There is a slot-limit of 28 – 38 inches to keep a fish. We carry a high-quality scale and will document any cows caught. Departure time is 6:00a.m. Minimum of 4 anglers is required to sail.

Call me direct if you have any questions.
